Supah Ninjas is an American action-comedy superhero series. The series premiered as a special preview on Nickelodeon on January 2011 in the United States. Sticky developed an action game to promote the show for the show's second season.

The Brief

Design a game showing the unique skills of the series cast. Drive as much as traffic to the Nick.com main series page as possible, within 4 weeks after launch.

Solution

We decided to go for a side-scrolling game to focus on a low-barrier-to-entry game, keeping a relative young audience in mind. Each level confronts the player with villains from the show so there is recognizability between the show and game. Release and advertise the game in three stages to increase returning visitors by releasing a new level and villain every week.

Execution

We designed three themed levels where the character is able to pick-up and learn more than 6 weapons, a grapple hook to reach platforms and showing off different fighting skills.

Stages:
  • Hit the rooftops in true ninja fashion to rescue Amanda;
  • fight an epic battle on the interstate to capture Twoton;
  • and infiltrate the Subsiders' secret lair
